This plan is dated at four months to twenty minutes with a stranger, on daily practice. That is achievable for a language close to one you already speak and ambitious for one that is not, so the date is worth adjusting.
Because it is the deadline that makes everything else real. Practice with no speaking date attached drifts into an indefinite preparation phase, and speaking badly early is how the preparation becomes useful.
Fifteen minutes, done daily. Language is the clearest case where frequency beats duration, and a short session survives the days when a long one would simply not happen.
